Conceived by our NZ Free ski champion Sam “Ibex” Lee. The T-ski Gnarlom is an annual off-piste (Giant) slalom race down seriously challenging terrain in the saddle or Powder bowl. Using Ski-cross GS gates, the course route includes bumps, jumps and rock drops. Advanced skiers only!
The T-Ski Gnarlom is the angry cousin of the TC Snowboard banked slalom, therefore Snowboarders are not permitted to race.

Saturday August 10th & Sunday August 11, 2024
The Treble Cone Banked Slalom is New Zealand’s longest-running snowboard event and a great social catch up for all ages. For 2024 the race has a new format with qualifications scheduled on the Saturday and Finals on Sunday. Both days will have the same format whereby competitors get 2 timed runs with the single fastest time determining who moves from qualifications to finals and then onto the podium.
The TC Banked Slalom is a recreation race for strong intermediate to advanced boarders. Competitors should be capable and confident riding off-piste at Treble Cone to enter.

The TC Mini Mountain is a single day; youth freeride competition for skiers and snowboarders aged 15 and under. The trail for the event will be a Red /Black off-piste slope with a variety of terrain, including rocks bumps and jumps. Competitors will have 40 minutes of inspection prior to a single judged run.
Returning this season is our parent division where mum or dad can compete and receive a score which is combined with their child’s score to determine a single podium family award.

This season the 2 Wanaka Ski Masters races have been combined to include a day of ski racing at Cardrona followed by a morning racing Giant Slalom at Treble Cone.
Day 1 kicks off early at Cardrona for the Dynastar Giant Slalom followed by morning tea, then a Slalom race down the Arcadia Basin trail. Day 2 is the Volkl Giant Slalom at Treble Cone which will be set down the Main-street trail. After racing, awards and refreshments will be presented in the courtyard.

The inter-field series moves to Treble cone for a Giant Slalom race on the Main-street trail. Organized by the Wanaka Ski Club, the day include 2 separate races and results to showcase emerging alpine ski racing talent. Inter-field racing is a fun family orientated race for U8 to U16 age divisions.

Long-time Treble Cone skiers and boarders will remember the Triple Comp. The event included an expression session, a kombi Slalom through the bumps, followed by a Darby down the Powder bowl, and that’s exactly what our Junior competitors will do this year. The event is timed and judged with combined results determining who steps onto the podium at the end of the day. Divisions include U8, U10, U12, U14 and U16 ages. Some divisions may be combined depending on final entries.
