Seasonal Employment at Treble Cone - Positions Available

 

Administration

Receptionist:  

To manage guest inquires providing efficient and accurate information to make the experience at Treble Cone memorable. This position includes managing the reception switchboard, updating snow reports, communications and general administrative tasks. Applicants should be excellent communicators with a strong guest service focus, highly organised with extensive administration experience and excellent computer skills including Word, Excel, Outlook and Publisher. (1)

   

Customer Information:  

To field guest inquires providing efficient and accurate information to make the experience at Treble Cone memorable. Manage Lost and Found property and conduct customer surveys on a daily basis. Includes reception duties, administrative tasks, some retail shop work and assisting in other departments. An enthusiastic, friendly attitude with a strong guest service focus and initiative essential. (1)

   
 

Childcare

Childcare Assistant:  

To supervise and entertain children in a safe and learning environment to enable parents to fully enjoy facilities available at Treble Cone. Our childcare centre looks after children from 3 years and up. Younger children must be accompanied by their parent or guardian. You will need to set up the centre in the morning, ensuring all facilities are safe, clean and hygienic and pack up the centre at the end of the day. You will be working unsupervised on a daily basis and will need to have initiative and patience to handle all that the position requires. You will have great communication skills, and be happy working alone. A police check will be required for this role. (2)

Food & Beverage

Cafe Team Leader:

In this role you will assist the Food & Beverage Supervisor in supervising the daily operations of the cafe and bar areas. You will be responsible for assigning daily tasks to the Front of House staff, weekly rostering, and to ensure the highest level of service is provided to our guests at all times. You will be responsible for maintaining appropriate stock levels on the floor and the accuracy of the tills. This is a fun and rewarding position, you will need to be able to communicate well in a variety of situations, to provide a high level of customer service at all times, and handle a wide range of enquiries on all aspects of Treble Cone. This is a fast paced and varied position, you will need to use initiative and be able to work well under pressure. Supervisory experience and knowledge of the hospitality industry essential. Previous cash handling experience required. (1)

   

Barista:

Working in a team of 5 baristas you will produce excellent quality hot beverages for guests in a busy high volume station in an efficient, professional and friendly manner. Great customer service and the ability to work well as part of a small team essential. Attention to detail and previous barista experience required. Early starts are required in this role. (5)

   

Cafe Assistant:

To work as part of a team carrying out a variety of general duties through the café and bar. Duties will include stock filling, cleaning, floor clearing and cashier duties. As a cashier you are responsible for recording all cash and account sales, banking and ensuring accurate sales records are kept.
This is a fun and rewarding position, you will need to be able to communicate well in a variety of situations, to provide a high level of customer service at all times, and ensure all guests have an enjoyable experience.
Previous cash handling experience preferred. Early starts required in this role. (8)

   

Sous Chef 

The café serves hot breakfasts, mountain meals and offers a grill service. In this role you will be assisting the Head Chef in the daily management of kitchen staff, covering the Head Chef's days off, ensuring the efficient and hygienic preparation of food for sale in the mountain café and to guarantee the food delivered to the customer is of the highest quality. Early starts required in this role. Qualifications and experience necessary. (1)

   

Qualified Chef:

The café serves hot breakfasts, mountain meals and offers a grill service. In this role you will be working with the Head and Sous chefs to assist in the efficient and hygienic preparation of food for sale in the mountain café and to ensure the food delivered to the customer is of the highest quality. Early starts required in this role. Qualifications and experience necessary. (3)

   

Prep Hand:

To assist in the efficient and hygienic preparation of food for sale in the mountain café and to ensure the food delivered to the customer is of a high quality. Hygiene and Food handling qualifications an advantage. This position may include some kitchen hand duties. In addition this role will also include general café duties in particular stock filling and hot serve duties. Early starts required in this role. (4)

   

Kitchen Porter:

This role covers a variety of duties, including washing dishes and associated kitchen equipment, food preparation and assisting other kitchen staff where necessary. In addition you will be responsible for the smooth and efficient movement of all café stock, including loading/unloading, transportation and invoice checking. This position will at times may also involve general café duties as and when required. Clean drivers license essential. (2)

   
 

Field Operations

Shuttle Driver:

Be a confident, experienced and responsible driver to ferry guests in 12 seater shuttles up and down the mountain access road. You will make guests feel at ease on the road and ensure that they arrive at the field excited about the day ahead. This role requires exceptional customer service skills and the ability to work unsupervised. You will not only be responsible for the safe passage of our guests but also the timely running of a town delivery system, vehicle refueling and cleanliness, and some road management duties. A full clean drivers license and P Endorsement is required. (1)

All positions are service based, have frequent customer interaction, are full time in an outdoor environment and are physically demanding. We are looking for people who are excellent oral communicators, neat in appearance, have a positive attitude, show attention to detail and initiative and are committed to excellent guest service. A current driver’s license is essential for some positions but the right attitude and being a team player is required for all. We are looking for sparrows not owls as early starts (6am) are required on a rostered basis. (20)

   
 

Rentals

Rentals Assistant:

The Treble Cone Rentals department prides itself on its high level of customer care. As a rentals assistant you will provide the best possible service to ticketed customers, ranging from school groups, first timers to advanced skiers and riders and maintain high standards whilst fitting our guests with the appropriate boots, skis, poles, snowboards or part sets where required. This is a fun and rewarding position, you will need to be able to communicate well in a variety of situations, to provide a high level of customer service at all times, and handle a wide range of enquiries on all aspects of Treble Cone. At time you will need to use initiative and be able to work well under pressure. Sales and previous cash handling experience an advantage. (7)   

   
 

Guest Services

Guest Services Team Leader:

To oversee the daily operations of all lift passes, season passes, rentals, lessons and packages as well as keeping our guests up to date on all aspects of Treble Cone. To ensure that staff have the knowledge and participate in training to ensure departmental service standards are met and exceptional customer service is provided at all times. Provide administration support for the Ticketing and Sale Supervisor before and during the season in regards to database communication, sales information, training, staff employment, rosters and bookings. Reconcile and support your team with daily banking. This positions starts mid May. Applications will open in March.
   

Guest Services Assistant:

In 2011 Treble Cone installed a new computerized ticketing system and RFID (radio frequency) gate technology. You will be selling the full range of lift passes, season passes, rentals and snow sports packages, including private coaching, group lessons and our all day kid's club. Guest Services staff are responsible for cash balancing and processing the banking for all commercial departments on the mountain. Part of the role will be working outside, often in a cold environment, as a RFID gate controller ensuring all our guests have valid passes before accessing our lifts and managing queues on busy days. This is a fun and rewarding position, you will need to be able to communicate well in a variety of situations, to provide a high level of customer service at all times, manage diverse and detailed transactions and handle a wide range of enquiries on all aspects of Treble Cone. This is a fast paced and varied position, you will need to use initiative and be able to work well under pressure. Previous cash handling experience required. (13)

 

 

 

Slopes

Groomer Operator:

Grooming, rebuilding and packing of trails to provide a consistent quality skiing surface for our customers. New Zealand licences 1, 2, W, T or equivalent. Snow grooming experience necessary with winch experience an advantage. Work visa sponsorship available for experienced operators. (6)
   

Snowmaker:

To provide a quality snow surface for our customers using snow making equipment. Work is physically demanding, working in shifts over a 24 hour period in cold and sometimes adverse conditions. A high level of fitness is required. Start mid May. Interviews for these positions will be held end of April. (12)
   
 

Ski Patrol

Patroller:

To ensure adequate systems are implemented preserving the safety of the public, staff and facilities.
Minimum qualifications requires are: Pre hospital Emergency Care or equivalent, Avalanche Management Stage 1, Approved Handler for snow blasting.
Skills: Excellent guest service skills, both proactive and reactive. Excellent observational and problem solving skills and a high level of both written and verbal English language.
Experience: Experience working in a Ski Patrol for a commercial ski area

   
 

Medical Centre

Nurse: 

To provide immediate medical care to guests and staff located at Treble Cone. You must be a confident skier/rider as you will be attending medical situations over the entire mountain. Experience: NZ registration (or eligibility). 18-24 months postgraduate training including A+E/trauma. Current CPR certificate. Moderate sking ability. Eligibility for work in New Zealand.  (1)

   

Doctor:

To provide immediate medical care to guests and staff located at Treble Cone. You must be confident skier/rider as you will be attending medical situations over the entire mountain. Experience:Registration with MCNZ (or eligibility). 18 months postgraduate experience including 6 months A+E. Current ACLS or equivalent. Moderate sking ability. Eligibility for work in New Zealand.
